'Illegitimi Non Carborundum' is a wry mock-Latin phrase that translates as 'Don't Let The Bastards Grind You Down.' My art and design taste favours maximalist or minimalist approaches; this piece is the latter. My approach was to create bespoke Roman Monumental Capitals and present them as if lovingly carved and gilded in marble into a magnificent ancient monument. Known as the 'Eternal Letter', Roman Monumental Capitals embody classical beauty, grace and dignity, creating a pleasing tension between the medium and the message. An edition of 150 available in one colourway, Metallic Gold on Frost White, initialled and numbered.

Please note these prints are handmade by one of the best printers in the UK. I have pushed this beautiful printing technique to the absolute limit. If you look very closely, you'll notice that slight imperfections are part of the charm of this artwork. I am delighted with the results, each print is unique, but if you're looking for perfect printing, something else might be for you.

Orders placed in the UK are sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery. International orders are shipped by Royal Mail 'International Signed For', a tracked and signed service in most countries. This tracking number often works on the tracking system for other countries' national postal services like USPS, Australia Post and Deutsche Post. Normal delivery time for the UK is 5-7 days, 7-12 days for Europe and 10-15 days for the rest of the world, but please allow up to 7 days for delivery in the UK and up to 28 days for the rest of the world. Depending on their size, prints are shipped securely in a strong postal tube or card-backed envelope to keep them secure. Please note that custom charges may apply for orders placed outside the UK. If paying via PayPal, please check that your postal address is current. Because packages require a signature, we can't post to PO Boxes unless you live in a country like the UAE, which requires one for International Post.
